Cocoplums flourish in sunny and warm areas which is why south Florida is the best area for these plants to grow. This plant usually thrive in swampy areas and the hammocks of southern Florida.
Cocoplums are bush-like plants so usually there are a large amount of cocoplums in small areas. These plants will produce fruits and flowers throughout the entire year. During the times of winter through spring, cocoplums are at their best time of flowering and blooming. The color of the fruits of a cocoplum can vary from white to pink to purple.
The cocoplum has high tolerance levels to wind, droughts, and rain which may occur at any time in south florida. Extreme heat which is common in south Florida has little effect on cocoplums while colder temperatures below 50° F.
